Turns out photographing a diamond isn’t that easy.

It’s like trying to light a mirror and prism at the same time. Not to mention the constant fear of dropping one on the floor.

The first images here represent a small sample of a very ambitious project: interactive 360º views of a diamond dealer’s full inventory. The final animations spin on demand, but I quite like these arrays of the still images. I think they look like moon charts.

Speaking of the heavens, the second set of images are cyanotype photograms of assorted diamonds arranged to evoke celestial bodies. Diamonds are made of stardust after all. And so are you.
